Central Islip Man With Dementia Reported Missing: PD

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A Silver Alert has been issued for a missing Central Islip man with dementia, Suffolk County Police said.

Jean Claude Labossiere, 72, was reported missing from his Wilson Boulevard home by his family on Friday, police said. He was last seen walking on Lemon Street in Central Islip at approximately 5:15 p.m.

Labossiere is Hispanic, between 5 feet 5 inches tall and 5 feet 6 inches tall, 215 pounds with brown eyes and gray hair that is balding. He was last seen wearing a burgundy T-shirt, beige shorts, a navy blue cap, and tan shoes. Police said he may be in the local area or in the vicinity of 33rd Street and 7th Avenue in Manhattan.

Police are asking anyone with information on Labossiere’s location to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352 or call 911.

Silver Alert is a program implemented in Suffolk County that allows local law enforcement to share information with media outlets and individuals with special needs who have been reported missing.
