Autumn and all of the season's traditions, sights, smells and sounds,
filled the Central Islip High School Student Cafe during a fall festival
celebration. Students in Mrs. Munguia's and Ms. Sorto's classes enjoyed
a crisp and beautiful autumn afternoon learning about Fall traditions,
enjoying apple cider, pumpkin and apple pies, and decorating pumpkins.
The autumn ambiance was complemented by music as students painted
personalities on their pumpkins. First, Second and Third place prizes
were awarded to the pumpkins based on the "student applause" meter.
Through this activity, Mrs. Munguia and Ms. Sorto built stronger
relationships with their students while creating a safe and enriching
learning environment for their students.
