Students in grades Kindergarten, First, Second, and Third received
life-saving fire prevention and safety lessons when volunteers from the
Central Islip Fire Department visited the school for Fire Prevention
Week. This initiative is part of an ongoing commitment between Central
Islip School District and the Central Islip Fire Department to keep
residents of the school community safe. Superintendent of Schools, Ms.
Sharon A. Dungee, underscored the importance of this annual activity,
and acknowledges the efforts of the community's volunteer firefighters
for their invaluable work and selfless efforts in educating young
children how to stay safe in the event of a fire.
