In a school wide effort to combat bullying and promote positive behavior, A.T. Morrow Elementary School Social Worker, Mr. Chris Carlozzo, and Social Work Intern, Mr. Ray Lee, developed weekly series of ideas, lesson plans, activities, and videos for students and their teachers about SEL and anti-bullying concepts. Mr. Carlozzo and Mr. Lee worked with different groups of students and teachers on this building-wide initiative. At the end of the month, students picked multicultural colored hands and wrote messages of positivity and inspiration to others. Those hands are cut out, interlocked, and are displayed throughout the school to spell the word 'kindness.' As a part of the anti-bullying campaign, Mr. Carlozzo, assisted by Mr. Lee, conducted a T-shirt initiative for students and staff to proudly wear. The shirts convey the message 'I Matter' on the front, and 'I Matter' in multilingual fashion on the back. Morrow Elementary School Principal, Dr. Neema Coker, is proud of the work the Morrow School Community is accomplishing as adult role models work with students to show respect and acceptance of others. Images in this presentation depict some of the numerous anti-bullying activities in which students are engaging.
