From the corridors to the classrooms, Mulligan Elementary School was
transformed into decor reflective of Hispanic culture and heritage. A
PTA Committee sponsored the school wide, hands-on event that featured
the culture, personalities, fashion, cuisine and flags representing
Spain, Mexico, Colombia, Cuba, Argentina and Puerto Rico. Mulligan
Teacher and PTA President, Ms. Bridget Burgess, said the PTA committee
devised a packet of ideas which, together with Mulligan teachers'
creativity with their students using an array of arts and crafts,
transformed the ambiance of their school to represent the rich
traditions of Hispanic culture. Superintendent of Schools, Ms. Sharon A.
Dungee, applauded Mulligan Elementary Principal, Mr. Brett MacMonigle,
faculty, staff and all of the students, for joining together to
celebrate a most unique Hispanic Heritage event. Images in this slide
show are a small representation of the elaborate displays that were
featured throughout the school.
