12/03/2021
Students
enrolled in Mr. Candido Crespo's Art Class at Reed Middle School are
busily engaged in designing original artistic creations. Under the 'I
AM' art project, Mr. Crespo is guiding his students as they create
original pieces reflective of their persona, accompanied by a
corresponding narrative that describes the original creation. Artworks
will be on public display in the Bay Shore Mall in January, (dates to be
announced), for the community to enjoy under the initiative which is
sponsored by the Islip Town Council for the Arts. Art
supplies, including brushes, paints and palettes were provided by the
Central Islip Civic Council for participating students. Proud of Mr.
Crespo and his students for their accomplishments, Superintendent of
Schools, Ms. Sharon A. Dungee, acknowledges the Islip Town Council for
the Arts, and the Central Islip Civic Council for their generosity and
recognition of the value of students publicly displaying their artwork.
