Central Islip Woman Wins $1M Lotto Prize

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — One Central Islip resident will be starting her summer with a bigger wallet.

Lynn Powell, of Central Islip, claimed her $1 million top prize on the New York Lottery’s Emerald 10s scratch-off game, the New York State Lottery announced on Tuesday.

The winning ticket was purchased at Valero, located at 404 Clinton St. in Hempstead.

Powell received her $1 million as a single lump sum of $585,900 after required withholdings.

All top prizes on the Emerald 10s game have been claimed. Players may continue to cash valid lower tier prizes through December 6.
