CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — “Fetty Wap” pleaded guilty in Long Island federal court Monday to drug charges.

The rapper, whose real name is Willie Junior Maxwell II, pleaded guilty to intentionally conspiring to distribute and possess controlled substances, the Eastern District of New York said.

According to court documents, the rapper aspired to circulate amounts of heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and cocaine-based substances between June 2019 and June 2020. However, Maxwell pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute and possess cocaine only, prosecutors said.

He also is charged with use of firearms in connection with a drug trafficking crime, for which he did not plead.

Three Long Island men and a New Jersey corrections officer were also part of a group of six indicted on federal drug charges along with Maxwell, and charged with conspiring to distribute and possess controlled substances, officials said.

Court documents stated that the men possessed: one kilogram or more of a substance containing heroin; 400 grams or more of a substance containing fentanyl; five kilograms or more of a substance containing cocaine; and 280 grams or more of a substance containing cocaine base.

The drugs were distributed to dealers who sold them on Long Island and in New Jersey, according to prosecutors.

Maxwell and Anthony Cyntje, of Passaic New Jersey, were linked to at least five kilograms or more of a substance containing cocaine, court documents said.

The rapper recently had his bond revoked in federal court on Monday, after he was arrested for threatening to kill a man over FaceTime, violating the conditions of his pre-trial release.

Maxwell currently faces a five-year mandatory minimum sentence.

His sentencing date is not yet scheduled. The rapper did not make a request to be released on bond and remains in custody, prosecutors said.
