First-Ever: Central Islip Marching Band Takes Fifth Avenue For St. Patrick’s Day Parade

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — The Central Islip High School marching band made history on March 17, stepping onto one of the nation’s most iconic stages as it marched in the 2026 New York City St. Patrick’s Day Parade for the first time.

Under the direction of Jeremiah Ryan and Kevin Pyle, the band brought energy and precision to the parade route, marking a milestone moment for the school’s music program.

The group was led by senior drum majors Davian Perez and Katelyn Reyes, who guided their fellow musicians through the performance with confidence and leadership.

Students performed their Bruno Mars–themed show, a crowd-pleasing program that has been featured at several high-profile events, including the school’s homecoming weekend and the Newsday Marching Band Festival in Uniondale.
