A Holiday Season in Technicolor

The Brentwood School District Rings In the Holiday Season with Its Annual Tree Lighting

‘Tis the season! The Brentwood School District loves to celebrate the holiday season the best way they know how—alongside its cherished community. On Friday, December 10, the Brentwood School District held its seventh annual tree lighting ceremony at Brentwood High School. The night was alight with holiday colors and cheer

“The Brentwood tree lighting is a wonderful tradition that brings so much joy to our community and our district,” said Richard Loeschner, superintendent of schools. “Thank you to all those who made this year’s tree lighting the most memorable one we’ve had yet, and thank you to those who were able to join us for the festivities. It fills me with such joy to be able to celebrate the holiday season with our community.”

The night’s event—spearheaded by Rhonda Young, Director of Special Services—was chock full of festive colors, music, and holiday cheer. Families from around the community gathered to celebrate. Channeling the spirit and decorations of the iconic Rockefeller Christmas tree, the night centered around the lighting of the district’s own tree. However, the Brentwood tree lighting featured decorations and lights to celebrate all the holidays that are observed during this time of year.

Members of clubs, community organizations, leaders, performers, faculty, and students joined in on the merriment. The Board of Education, Superintendent Loeschner, Assistant Superintendent’s Ortiz-Rivera and Palmer, and many more mingled and celebrated with students and families. Several members of district clubs and programs were also in attendance to show their appreciation for the work that was done to make the event possible and to watch the tree lighting amongst friends and families. It was truly a magical way to ring in the holiday season.
