From The Town of Islip: Town Supervisor Angie Carpenter was joined by Town Councilman James P. O'Connor, DPW and Parks Commissioner Tom Owens and members of his staff, at the Brentwood Recreation Center recently to announce the completion of the paving project along 3rd Avenue in Brentwood. The project is part of an ongoing effort throughout the Town of Islip to improve the Town’s infrastructure and to resurface and beautify its roadways.

In addition to 3rd Avenue, DPW and Parks crews have also completed paving projects in Brentwood along Jefferson Ave., Lincoln Ave., Madison Ave., Hancock Street, Wells Drive and Leahy Ave., with plans to begin work on 4th Avenue, and McNair Street.

“With over 1,200 miles of roadway stretching from West Islip to Bayport, we are taking a scientific approach to identifying and addressing the roads that are most in need,” said Town of Islip Supervisor Angie Carpenter.”
