Man Airlifted To Hospital After 4-Car Crash On LIE
Firefighters needed to cut the roof off the man's car to free him from the wreckage Tuesday evening.

BRENTWOOD, NY – A man was airlifted to the hospital following a 4-car crash on the Long Island Expressway Tuesday evening.
The crash occurred in the westbound lanes near Exit 53 in Brentwood, according to Suffolk Police.
Firefighters needed to cut the roof off one car to free a man from the wreckage. That man, who police did not name, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital via a police helicopter with serious, but non-life threatening injuries. Police did not report any other injuries.

The investigation into the crash is continuing.
