Man Fatally Struck By Car While Crossing Street In Brentwood: PD

BRENTWOOD, NY - A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a car in Brentwood on Saturday night, according to Suffolk Police.

Nelson Gonzalez, 55, of Brentwood was walking in the roadway on Crooked Hill Road, near McNair Street, when he was struck by a northbound 2006 Jeep at 9:20 p.m.

Gonzalez was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Jeep, 32-year-old Delmi Rodriguez, of Brentwood, was not injured.

The car was impounded for a safety check. Detectives are asking anyone with information on the crash to call the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
