Man Hit By Forklift While Working In Brentwood

An officer saved the man by applying a tourniquet to his leg before being transferred to the hospital.

BRENTWOOD, NY - A Suffolk Police officer rescued a man who was hit with a forklift while working in Brentwood Tuesday morning.

Gabriel Leveille, 66, of Westbury was operating a mechanical pallet jack at Broadridge on 300 Executive Drive when he was accidentally struck by a forklift at 10:05 a.m.

Officer Kevin Bell responded and applied a tourniquet to his right leg.

Leveille was then transported by Brentwood Legion Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment.
