Man Seriously Injured In Brentwood Crash: PD

Two people were injured in a car crash on Monday afternoon, police say.

BRENTWOOD, NY — Two people were injured in a car crash in Brentwood on Monday afternoon, Suffolk County Police said.

A 2013 Lexus being driven by a Merrick man was traveling eastbound on Long Island Avenue at 12:54 p.m. when the driver attempted to make a left turn onto Executive Drive, police said. The Lexus collided with a 2013 Jeep being driven by Leonard Ricciardi, 61, who was heading westbound on Long Island Avenue, police said.

The driver of the Lexus, whose identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin, was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious physical injuries, police said.

Ricciardi, of Deer Park, was also taken to South Shore University Hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for a safety check and no charges have been filed, police said.
