Man Shot, Critically Injured Half-Brother During Argument: SCPD
The 40-year-old fled the scene after shooting his half-brother in front of his home Tuesday night, police say.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A man was arrested after shooting and critically injuring his half-brother during an argument at his Central Islip home Tuesday night, according to Suffolk Police.
Officers responded to a 911 report of a man shot at the Irving Street home at 11:05 p.m., police said.
When officers arrived, they found 31-year-old Daniel Davis in the driveway of the home with a gunshot wound to his neck, police said.

Davis, of Mastic, was transported via Central Islip-Hauppauge Volunteer Ambulance to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore in critical but stable condition, police said.
After an investigation, detectives found that Davis was shot by his half-brother, 40-year-old Eugene Sherrod, during a verbal dispute in front of Sherrold's home, police said.

He then fled the scene in a Hyundai Santa Fe, police said.
Highway Patrol officers found the Hyundai on Express Drive North in Medford and arrested Sherrod at 12:56 a.m.
He was charged with first degree assault.
He was held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip Wednesday.
