Man Shot In Leg During Central Islip Shooting: PD

The shooting was reported Tuesday night.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A man was shot in the leg during a shooting in Central Islip Tuesday night, according to Suffolk Police.

Four men were sitting in a 2016 Nissan Altima on East Cedar Street, near Prospect Avenue, when two men approached the driver’s side of the car on foot at 6:35 p.m., police said.

One of the two men fired two shots through the driver’s window with a handgun. A 25-year-old man sitting in the front passenger seat was struck once in the leg, police said. The 20-year-old male driver was injured by shattered glass from the window, police said. Two male passengers in the backseat were not injured.

The duo then fled on foot. The victims drove themselves to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
