Man Attacks Passenger With Machete, Runs Him Over With Car: PD
A Brentwood man is charged with attempted murder after attacking a passenger with a machete and running him over with his car, police say.

BRENTWOOD, NY — A Brentwood man was arrested and charged Thursday after he attacked another man with a machete and ran him over with a vehicle last month, Suffolk County Police said.
Rosali Marquez, 38, was driving in a vehicle with an acquaintance in Brentwood on September 10 at 9:40 p.m. when the men got into a fight, police said. Marquez stopped the vehicle on Grove Street and the two men exited the vehicle, police said. Marquez attacked the other man with a machete, police said, then reentered the vehicle and ran over him.
Marquez was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder, police said.

The person attacked, 35, of Bay Shore, was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore with serious injuries and has since been released, police said.
Following an investigation, Third Squad detectives, with assistance from United States Marshals Service NY/NJ Regional Fugitive Task Force, arrested Marquez in Queens, police said.

Marquez will be held overnight at the Third Precinct and is scheduled for arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on October 29, police said.
