Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Car In Central Islip Hit-And-Run: PD
The 35-year-old was fatally struck by a car that fled the scene and was then struck by two more cars Friday night, police say.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Central Islip on Friday night, according to Suffolk Police. Officers responded to Hawthorne Avenue, just north of Storey Avenue, in response to a multi-car crash at 6:35 p.m.
An unknown car struck a pedestrian, 35-year-old Terrance Tuffini, of Central Islip on Hawthorne Avenue and fled the scene. Tuffini was then struck by a 2007 Toyota Yaris and was hit again by a 2008 Dodge Nitro.
Tuffini was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore where he was pronounced dead. The drivers of the Toyota and the Dodge were not injured. No arrests have been made.
