Pedestrian Killed In Suffolk Hit-And-Run Crash

Police believe the 26-year-old was hit by a red or burgundy-colored sedan.

BRENTWOOD, NY - A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash in Brentwood early Sunday morning, according to Suffolk Police.

Luis Felix Gomez-Cuji, 26, of Bay Shore was crossing Suffolk Avenue, just west of Eastern Avenue, when he was struck by a car that fled the scene.

A passing motorist found Gomez-Cuji lying in the roadway and called 911 at 3:20 a.m.

Gomez-Cuji was pronounced dead at the scene by a physician assistant from the Office of the Suffolk County Medical Examiner.

Detectives believe the vehicle that struck Gomez-Cuji was either a red- or burgundy-colored sedan, possibly with damage on the driver’s side.
