
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A person was killed after being struck by a train in Central Islip early Tuesday, an MTA spokesperson confirmed.
An unauthorized person on the tracks was struck by an eastbound train around 12:40 a.m. about 1/2 mile east of the Central Islip station.
The person died at the scene.

Service was suspended in both directions until about 3:15 a.m.
MTA Police are investigating.
