In January 2019, Suffolk Police arrested 55-year-old Thomas Barton at his home on Lincoln Road in Medford after learning he had a sexual relationship with 16-year-old girl. The girl was a former student of his at North Middle School in Brentwood.Last December, Barton plead guilty to two counts of first degree rape, according to court records. He was originally scheduled to be sentenced on Thursday, Feb. 6, however it has been rescheduled for Friday, Feb. 28.
