Teen Charged With DWI, Possession Of a Weapon: PD
A teen driver was arrested and charged after he was found to be intoxicated and in possession of a handgun, police say.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A teenager was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated and criminal possession of a weapon on Saturday after a traffic stop, Suffolk County Police said.
The 17-year-old male, of Central Islip, was officially charged with second-degree criminal possession of weapon , a felony; third-degree criminal possession, a felony; and driving while intoxicated, police said.
At about 2:30 a.m., police said they observed an Acura speeding southbound on Wilson Boulevard and initiated a traffic stop.

Police determined that the driver, the 17-year-old, was intoxicated and in possession of a loaded 9mm handgun, authorities said.
