In a statement, the district said it fully cooperated as police conducted its investigation. Due to privacy laws, district officials could not comment further.

"The safety and well-being of our students, staff and community is the Brentwood School District’s foremost priority. As always, we encourage parents to continue to speak with their children about the district's Code of Conduct and the importance of appropriate behavior while using social media," Supervisor Richard Loeschner said in a statement. "I encourage parents to call me or the building principal if they have any questions about our safety procedures and protocols."
