Woman Crashes BMW Through Front Of Central Islip House, Charged With DWI: Police

Police say the 30-year-old driver lost control of a BMW SUV and crashed through the front of a house on Nostrand Avenue early Sunday.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A Central Islip woman was arrested on a driving while intoxicated charge after police said she crashed her SUV through the front of a house early Sunday morning.

Estefany DeJesus was driving a 2022 BMW SUV southbound on Birchgrove Drive when she lost control of the vehicle at the intersection of Birchgrove Drive and Nostrand Avenue at around 2:10 a.m. Sunday, according to Suffolk County police.

Police said the SUV left the roadway and crashed through the front of a residence at 528 Nostrand Ave.

Third Precinct officers responded to the scene and determined DeJesus was impaired, police said.

DeJesus, 30, of 101 Vanderbilt Ave. in Central Islip, was charged with driving while intoxicated.

She was transported to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for evaluation, police said.

There were no injuries to the residents of the home, according to police.

The Fire Marshal and Town of Islip Building Inspector responded to assess damage to the structure, police said.

DeJesus was scheduled to be arraigned Sunday at First District Court in Central Islip.
