The 20-year-old fought off a man who tried to rob her while walking on Wednesday night, police say.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A 20-year-old Central Islip woman fought off an attempted robber on Wednesday night, according to Suffolk Police
The incident was reported on Monsen Street in Central Islip at about 11:51 p.m.
The woman was getting out of her car when a man approached her and tried to steal her purse.
