Woman Hospitalized After Crashing Car Into Pole In Central Islip
The crash also caused the car to overturn, police say.

CENTRAL ISLIP, NY - A woman was hospitalized after crashing into a pole in Central Islip early Monday morning, according to Suffolk Police.
Officers responded to a 911 call reporting a motor vehicle crash on Wheeler Road near Dietz Street at 1:20 a.m.
Ada Mejia, 41, of Bay Shore was driving a Dodge Ram pickup truck northbound on Wheeler Road when she lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a utility pole, causing the vehicle to overturn.

Mejia was transported to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A passenger in the car, 48-year-old Jose Lopez, of Central Islip, was not injured.
