Woman Seriously Injured After Car Crashes Into Garbage Truck: PD
A woman was seriously injured when a car struck a garbage truck early Wednesday morning, Suffolk County police say.

BRENTWOOD, NY — A woman was seriously injured when a car struck a garbage truck in Brentwood early Wednesday morning, Suffolk County police said.
A 51-year-old woman was driving a 2018 Mercedes westbound on Suffolk Avenue at 4:51 a.m. police said, when her vehicle struck the rear of a westbound garbage truck in front of a Suffolk Avenue residence.
The passenger in the Mercedes, who has not yet been identified, was taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of serious injuries, police said.

The driver of the Mercedes was not injured. The driver of the garbage truck and his passenger were also not injured, police said.
No charges have been filed, police said.

The Mercedes was impounded for a safety check, and the garbage truck was inspected at the scene by officers from the Motor Carrier Safety Section, police said. Detectives asked anyone with information on the crash to contact the Third Squad at 631-854-8352.
