Woman Stabbed In Central Islip, Suspect Arrested Nearby: Police
The victim fled to 7-Eleven on West Suffolk Avenue before the suspect was arrested nearby, police say.
CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — A 29-year-old Central Islip man was charged after police said he stabbed a woman at a home early Sunday morning.
Jose Martinez, 29, of Central Islip, was charged with second-degree assault after he stabbed a woman he knew at a residence on Peters Boulevard on March 1, according to Suffolk County police.
Police said the victim fled the home and ran to 7-Eleven, located at 70 West Suffolk Ave. in Central Islip, where someone called 911 at 2:47 a.m.

Martinez followed the victim to the area and was arrested nearby, police said.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.
