• Over $8 million going to Finger Lakes region for various public playground projects (whec.com) — Brockport is set to receive $786,609 to install new playground equipment at Corbett Park, part of a major state investment in accessible play spaces. The funding, announced by Gov. Kathy Hochul, is among several Finger Lakes awards and should mean a refreshed, more inclusive neighborhood park for local families and children.
   

• 'It's really hard to see': Drivers frustrated by light pole outages along many Monroe County highways (rochesterfirst.com) — If you commute from Brockport toward Rochester, you may be driving through long stretches of I-490 and I-390 where many highway light poles are out, raising serious nighttime visibility concerns. Local drivers and a towing operator describe frequent hazards, while Monroe County officials say they're troubleshooting the electrical problems and urge motorists to rely on good headlights and distraction-free driving meanwhile.
