20 Years For Murder During Attempted Robbery In Yonkers
The victim refused to turn over his personal property and was shot by the defendant.

YONKERS, NY — Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino, Jr. announced today that Robert Daniels, 28, of Ravine Avenue in Yonkers, New York was sentenced by Judge Barry Warhit to 20 years to life in state prison after having pled guilty to one count of second-degree murder, a felony, in the death of Joseph Huguet. Scarpino said, on May 31, 2016, around 8:47 p.m., Huguet was in Doyle Park when Daniels attempted to rob him at gunpoint. The victim refused to turn over his personal property. That is when Daniels shot him multiple times using a .380 caliber semi-automatic pistol. He then ran out of the park.
Yonkers Police as well as an ambulance responded to the location. Huguet was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead. [Get Patch’s Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts here.]
An autopsy conducted by the Medical Examiner’s office revealed that Huguet suffered bullet wounds to the neck and torso with lacerations of the heart, lung and liver as well as internal bleeding.
