3 A.M. Eastchester Apartment Fire Displaces 11 Residents

It took firefighters about an hour to bring the blaze under control.

A fire at a brick commercial/residential building in Eastchester early Monday has temporarily displaced 11 residents and the deli downstairs.

No injuries were reported in the 3 a.m. blaze on White Plains Road, which took firefighters about an hour to bring it under control, reports The Journal News. One resident went to the hospital, but for reasons not related to the fire.

Eastchester fire officials did not immediately respond to a message seeking comment.

The cause of the fire was not disclosed, but Capt. Thomas Ferrara told The Journal News that it was started by accident on the second floor.
