From the Bronxville Union Free School District.
Bronxville High School students Abigail Fong and Tiantong Wang, who were selected to perform in the prestigious All-State ensembles, were recently recognized for their excellence in music during the All-State Recognition Ceremony. They received certificates from New York State Sen. Shelley Mayer and New York State Senate Majority Leader Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins.
“We are incredibly proud of their hard work, dedication and musical excellence,” music department chairperson Uma Karkala said. “Their commitment to music and representation of our program continues to inspire our entire school community.”
Fong and Wang were selected for the All-State ensembles based on their exceptional New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) scores from last spring. Both students achieved perfect scores and were among an elite group of students selected from across New York State. In addition, Fong served as second concertmaster for her ensemble.
