State of Emergency

The State of New York has declared a State of Emergency in Westchester County as our region prepares for a strong coastal storm expected to bring heavy rain, strong winds, and the potential for flooding.

I encourage everyone throughout District 15 and Westchester County to take precautions now. Secure outdoor furniture and other loose items, charge your phones and electronic devices, ensure flashlights are working, and be prepared for the possibility of downed trees, wires, and power outages.

Please limit unnecessary travel as conditions worsen, and never attempt to drive through flooded roads or around barricades. Stay away from downed wires and report outages or hazardous conditions to the appropriate authorities. Please reserve 911 for true emergencies.

This is also a good time to check on elderly neighbors, family members, and anyone who may need additional assistance during the storm.
