Love is in the air at Arista Camera & Imaging (Arista) in Bronxville. The family-friendly camera shop, currently celebrating its 50th year in business, is paying homage to cupid by showcasing images from over two dozen real weddings. The portraits, shot by local photographer Ricky Restiano of Park Place Photography, will be available for viewing throughout the month of February.
Portraits on display range from traditional engagement photos to quirky wedding photography, including a shot of wedding bands propped up against a Lego action figure. The images are placed throughout the store; a series of creative ring portraits line entire walls while engagement photos greet customers at the door. Arista is encouraging those interested in viewing the romantic display to visit the store, where they’re also handing out Hershey’s kisses.
The wedding photography gallery is not the first for Arista; the shop regularly displays the various works of local photographers, often showcasing more than one photographer at a time. “It’s our way of supporting the local talent,” said Richard Restiano, Sr., co-owner of Arista Camera & Imaging. “Our customers enjoy the ever-changing displays and oftentimes will purchase a portrait from the photographer that we’re showcasing.”

The photography displays are but one of a number of ways that Arista shows love for their community. The store, whose professional staff will often greet many customers by name, recently launched an annual membership program in an effort to provide extra special offers to customers, both present and future. The membership costs only $50.00 and includes substantial discounts on printing and enlargements, free attendance at special events, and major deals on Arista classes. Classes are hands-on and cover a variety of fun and educational topics such as photography tips, decorating with frames, and organizing a photo catalog.
