Award-Winning Film of the True Story of Alan Turing to Be Shown in Bronxville
Join us at Christ Church Bronxville for a screening of CODEBREAKER on March 1st, 2015 including a Q and A with Exec Producer, Patrick Sammon

Bronxville NY: An award-winning drama documentary about gay computer pioneer and codebreaker Alan Turing will be shown Sunday evening, March 1 at Christ Church in Bronxville. CODEBREAKER relies on a solid historical record of true events to tell Turing’s dramatic and engaging story. The 80-minute feature film will be screened at 6:00 p.m. in Taylor Hall on Kensington Avenue. Admission is free but reservations are requested (ccbny.org/codebreaker).
Patrick Sammon, the executive producer and creator of CODEBREAKER, will host a Q & A session following the Bronxville showing. “I appreciate the opportunity to present this important story to a new audience,” said Sammon. “The current Hollywood release , THE IMITATION GAME, has introduced Turing’s to millions of people, but the film takes a great deal ‘cinematic license’ with the facts. CODEBREAKER is a much more accurate portrayl of of Turing’s life.”
Alan Turing was a maverick British genius who broke Germany’s naval Enigma code during World War II, helping shorten the war and saving millions of lives. He also is regarded as the father of modern computing and artificial intelligence. Instead of celebrating Turing, the British government persecuted him for being gay and forced him to endure chemical castration. In despair, he eventually committed suicide at the age of 41.
