
A Bronx man faces prison time for a Bronxville burglary from 2014.
The Village of Bronxville Police Department said Carmelo Rivera, 48, was convicted by a jury of first-degree burglary, a felony.
He was sentenced to 18 years in state prison with five years post-release supervision.

Police responded to a 911 call about an apartment on Kensington Road having been burglarized on July 1, 2014.
The apartment had been entered via a ground-floor bedroom window.

Two firearms and jewelry were stolen.
Detective William Carroll and Sergeant Nicholas DeYoung processed the crime scene and collected blood evidence, which was submitted to the county for examination.
The Division of Forensic Sciences reported to Carroll on August 13, 2014, that the blood sample matched one in the Combined DNA Index System—CODIS—belonging to Rivera.
He was arrested August 28, 2014, with the assistance of the state Department of Corrections Division of Parole.
