Bronxville High School Class of 2017 Graduates

BRONXVILLE, NY — Dressed in the traditional white dresses and tuxedos, members of the Bronxville High School Class of 2017 received their high school diplomas during the 95th commencement ceremony held on the school’s front lawn on June 17. Principal Ann Meyer recited the Bronxville Promise and encouraged students to make that same promise to themselves as they embark on life outside of the school’s walls and the community. Senior Class President Thomas Maldonado spoke about the close-knit community of Bronxville.
“Bronxville is more than just a village or a school; it’s a community unbelievably rich with relationships that will last a lifetime,” he said. “I urge you all to take a moment and reflect on all the relationships you’ve formed over the years.”
Student Faculty Legislature President Aidan Flannery reflected on his years in Bronxville and the milestones he looked forward to. He also encouraged his classmates to live in the moment, reciting a quote by spiritual author Eckhart Tolle.

“As exciting as our futures are going to be, please try to focus on this present moment and enjoy these last memories that we make with each other,” he said. “I promise you that by living in the moment, your future will only become sweeter.”

Parent Catherine Krall, who was chosen by the class as this year’s guest speaker, focused on the top 10 wishes a parent has for his or her graduate, before the graduates were called one by one to receive their diplomas. Several students received awards for excellence in music, art, vocal music, drama, English, math, science, Latin, social studies, Spanish, French and overall academic excellence.
