Bronxville Mayor Marvin Responds to Housing Lawsuit
The village was sued this week by Westchester Residential Opportunities, Inc.

Bronxville Mayor Mary Marvin Friday offered a response to this week’s lawsuit from Westchester Residential Opportunities, Inc. over alleged housing discrimination involving the long-planned Kensington Road condominium project.
The lawsuit claims the project does not do enough to make accommodations for families with children.
“Housing discrimination in all forms must be challenged, so that families and people of all ages are welcome in our communities,” said WRO Executive Director Geoffrey Anderson in a statement this week. “Bronxville and its developer have deliberately set out to design and market new condominiums to deter families with children from moving into the Village.”

The residential development has been an important initiative of Mayor Marvin’s tenure in office, and without speaking directly about the specifics of the lawsuit, she wanted to make sure that people know how welcoming the village is.
“Obviously, I cannot answer questions on the complaint itself, but I can say Bronxville is nothing if not a community of families and children,” said Marvin. “Families with children are certainly welcome in the Kensington development.”
