Bronxville Orthopedist Dr. Peter Rizzo Reprimanded by State Dept. of Health

He is a member of the staff of New York-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital and also sees patients through a local practice.

Dr. Peter F. Rizzo, a Bronxville orthopedist, has been censured, reprimanded and placed on 36-month probation in connection with disciplinary action by the state Department of Health over a negligence case.

“The physician asserted he could not successfully defend against at least one of the charges alleging negligence on more than one occasion and failing to maintain accurate patient records,” according to the Department of Health. “During probation the physician may only practice medicine when his practice is being monitored by a licensed physician; board certified in an appropriate specialty.”

The Journal News reports Rizzo was punished for alleged negligent treatment of five patients between 2004 and 2011. He is a member of the staff of New York-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital and also sees patients through a local practice.
