Bronxville School Foundation to Host 25th Anniversary Spring Swing Fundraiser April 8th
The Foundation will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a jazz performance by the Walter Blanding Quintet of Jazz at Lincoln Center

On Friday, April 8th, the Bronxville School Foundation will be celebrating its 25th anniversary with a “Spring Swing” fundraiser. The evening will begin with cocktails under a tent, followed by a performance in the new school auditorium by the Walter Blanding Quintet of Jazz at Lincoln Center. Tickets are available by calling 914-395-0515 or at http://www.bronxvilleschoolfoundation.org/SpringSwing.html. Foundation Development VP Christine Fitzgibbons noted, “Each year the Foundation receives more and more grant applications with great ideas for projects that will improve the Bronxville School. The District’s budget is tight so proceeds from this event and from our annual community drive are more and more important to sustaining Bronxville as a top school.”
Expenses for the event are being underwritten by Bronxville families and local businesses, including to-date, Houlihan Lawrence, Valerie Wilson Travel, Sotheby’s, NYP/Lawrence Hospital and Infinia. One hundred percent of ticket sales will go to benefit the Bronxville School Foundation.
Honorary Chairs for the evening include all past and present Foundation Chairs and Executive Directors: Marcia Lee, Wright Elliott, George Guimaraes, William Barton, Thomas Kenney, Mary Marvin, Patricia Smith, Elizabeth Murphy, Sarah Underhill, Irene McNamara, Mary Taylor Behrens, Pierre de Saint Phalle, Mariellen Carpenter, Mike Sargent, Stephen Palfrey, Suzanne McCann, Christine Fitzgibbons, Ashley Hanrahan, Ellen Seabring and Peggy Williams.

The Bronxville School Foundation was founded in 1991 by a group of Bronxville School parents and community members who were concerned that government support for public education was dwindling. The founders realized that private philanthropy was necessary to maintain school excellence and the desirability of the Bronvxille community. In its 25 years, the Foundation has made grants totaling more than $7.5 million for new curriculum development, educational programs and enhancements, technology, faculty professional development, facilities projects and specialized equipment, supplies and materials.
Foundation Chair Ashley Hanrahan said of the event, “It’s going to be a great night to celebrate the Foundation and the work it’s done for the last 25 years to help make the Bronxville School an excellent place for students. We hope that school families and community members will come out and support the Foundation.”
