Bronxville Schools Bids Farewell To Retiring Staff Members

BRONXVILLE, NY — With a combined experience of more than 119 years, five Bronxville School District staff members are embarking on the next chapter of their lives. Three of them — Carol Cecere, Emanuel Foglio and Mary Ann Panico — retired midyear, while Carol Cerrone and Peter Royal retire at the end of this school year.

“I will miss the creative energy of the students and those precious moments when we watch a student find himself or herself on stage in performance. Those are the images that will stay with me forever,” Royal said, who has been an educator for 36 years and has taught theater at the middle and high schools for 15 years. “I will remember the creation of [the auditorium]. I hope the performing arts will stay strong and active in Bronxville.”

Cerrone has served the district as a teacher aide for 18 years.

“I leave the Bronxville School with many wonderful memories of my journey as an aide in the special education department,” she said. “Each and every student I have worked with will always have a special place in my heart. It was an amazing and rewarding part of my life.”

The staff members, who have made a difference in the lives of hundreds of students, said they’ll miss the daily interactions with their committed colleagues and creative students. Cecere served as secretary to the middle school principal for 13 years, Foglio served as an audiovisual specialist for 22 years, and Panico served as a teacher aide for 30 years.
