Ms President US To Welcome 4th-8th grade girls and high school mentors
The new chapter will bring Ms President US’s nationally renowned civic leadership program to girls in 4th through 8th grade throughout Westchester County. Through mentorship, civic education, public speaking, debate, and hands-on experiences with government and community leaders, participants will develop the skills and confidence to make their voices heard and become civic leaders.
Bronxville resident and partner at ACON Investments, Mena Thever, will lead the new chapter. A member of Harvard’s Women’s Leadership Board and a recognized business leader, Thever said, “Ms President US gives girls the opportunity to see themselves as leaders today, not someday. The launch of our Westchester Chapter allows us to bring that experience to even more girls and connect them with mentors who can encourage, challenge, and inspire them.”
The Westchester program workshops meet monthly from 5:30-7pm and cover topics including: Civic leadership and public service, visits from local, state, and federal leaders, self-confidence building, public speaking training, and campaign and platform development. Program dates for 2026-2027 are: October 7th, November 4th, December 2nd, January 6th, February 10th, March 10th, and April 7th Campaign & Election. Scholarships are available.
The program culminates in an exciting event where participants put their leadership skills into action, presenting their own platforms as candidates in Ms President US’s signature campaign and election.
The new chapter is also seeking high school girls with leadership experience to serve as mentors. Mentors will facilitate small-group discussions, encourage participants, and help inspire the next generation of young women leaders. Mentors can also earn credit or community-service hours through their participation, and there is no cost to serve as a mentor.
Ms President US is a nonpartisan, community-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to motivating and preparing girls to pursue the highest civic leadership positions. Through mentorship, civic education, and hands-on experiences, Ms President US gives girls the tools and confidence to become engaged citizens and community leaders before they are even old enough to vote!
