Car Keyed, Taxi Driver Stiffed, Driver Flees Accident Scene: Bronxville Police Blotter

Here are a few of the most recent incidents the Bronxville Village Police dealt with.

BRONXVILLE, NY — Bronxville Police earned their keep over the past couple of weeks. The village saw a mountain bicycle stolen, construction work over the weekend, a stiffed taxi driver and unlocked cars entered into. Here’s a rundown from the latest Village of Bronxville Police Department blotter.

  • 2:43 p.m., Aug. 17: A Starbucks patron said he was alerted by witnessed that a woman had allegedly intentionally damaged his 2004 Mercedes Benz by dragging a key against the rear tailgate. The incident, as well as the woman’s license plate, was captured on village surveillance cameras. Luba Slojka, 65, of Yonkers, was arrested Aug. 18 and charged with misdemeanor fourth-degree criminal mischief. She was issued an appearance ticket pending a court date.
  • 12:22 p.m., Aug. 19: An officer responded to Avon Road for a complaint about construction work being performed on the weekend. The workers were warned after being advised of the village code violation.
  • 1:44 a.m., Aug. 20: A taxi driver requested police assistance with a far who refused to pay after receiving a ride from Manhattan. Officers stood by while the men came to a compromise on their own.
  • 8:42 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., Aug. 21: Six unlocked vehicles on Gramatan Court were entered into overnight, three of which had money stolen.
  • 9:11 a.m., Aug. 21: A Parkway Road resident reported that a red Trek mountain bike valued at $750 was stolen from his property.
  • 12:10 p.m., Aug. 22: A Stone Place resident reported that his 2010 Chevy Camaro was damaged by an unknown liquid being poured on the hood.
  • 12:52 p.m., Aug. 22: A woman reported that her vehicle, which was parked on Park Place, was struck by another car and that the male driver fled the scene while being flagged down by witnessed to stop. Village surveillance cameras captured the incident. The driver — an 82-year-old Yonkers resident — was issued citations for leaving the scene of a property accident, moving unsafely, driving across hazardous pavement markings, moving from lane unsafely and disobeying a stop sign.
  • 2:43 p.m., Aug. 26: An Eastbourne resident reported that five fraudulent purchases totaling approximately $860 were made at various locations using his credit card information. The incident is being investigated.
  • 9:30 a.m. to 2:49 p.m., Aug. 28: Three village code violation appearance tickets were issued for the use of a gas-powered leaf blower.
