The theft occurred during Mass on New Year's Eve.

An undisclosed amount of cash was reported stolen on New Year’s Eve from St. Joseph’s Church in Bronxville, according to authorities.

News 12 reports the money was located in an unlocked safe in a private room, and it was taken during that evening’s Mass.

“From what we gather, the place was cased ahead of time,” Father Augustine Badgley told News 12. “He knew what he was going for and where to look.”
