David Brooks, Noted Columnist, Kicks Off 2016 Castle Conversations Forum at Manhattanville College Feb. 16

Purchase, NY, January 25, 2016 -- David Brooks, prolific columnist for The New York Times, insightful political analyst on PBS NewsHour, and keen observer of the world we live in, will share his latest reflections on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at 8 p.m. at Manhattanville College, to kick off this year’s highly popular Castle Conversations public forum series. The host is Elliot Forrest of WQXR.

In addition to Mr. Brooks, other Castle Conversations speakers this year are: Steve Wozniak (April 5), co-founder Apple Computer, Inc. with Steve Jobs in 1976; Twyla Tharp (September 20), founder of Twyla Tharp Dance company and Tony and Emmy award winner, and Danny Meyer (November 29), CEO of Union Square Hospitality Group, whose restaurants and chefs have earned an unprecedented 25 James Beard Awards.

Mr. Brooks is the author of several books, including his newest one The Road to Character, which explains why selflessness leads to greater success. A previous book, Bobos in Paradise, was a New York Times bestseller. He holds honorary degrees from several colleges, is a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and is currently teaching at Yale University.

Castle Conversations, a speakers’ series, engages, challenges, and enlightens the residents of Westchester and Fairfield counties with new ideas from the nation’s top journalists, scientists, historians, artists, and business entrepreneurs.

“No other forum like this exists in Westchester and Fairfield counties,” said Jon C. Strauss, Ph.D., president of Manhattanville College. “We want the speakers to stimulate discussions about the radically changing world in which we live. It is our way of reaching out to the community, building relationships, and sharing with our neighbors the ideas of the brightest minds in America.”
