Deli Man! An Evening of Film, Jewish Deli Food, and Discussion presented by Westchester Cinema Club

These delicious items will all be on the menu, for a memorable evening of film and Jewish deli food, as the Westchester Cinema Club presents a preview screening of the acclaimed new documentary Deli Man, direct from the New York Jewish Film Festival, followed by a discussion with director Erik Greenberg Anjou. A 19th-century immigrant-driven cuisine became a 20th century American mainstay thanks to Katz’s, the Carnegie Deli, and many others. But changing demographics and tastes alongside rocketing rents and food costs have hurt the business. Deli Man is the story of the deli stalwarts, survivors, and young bloods—such as Ziggy Gruber, third-generation Houston, Texas deli man—who are re-energizing the food and its future. The film also includes interviews with deli mavens Jerry Stiller and Larry King, Deli Man opens in theaters in late February. Doors open at 6:00 p.m. Film starts at 7:00 p.m. This event takes place at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, 2548 Central Park Avenue, Yonkers. Tickets are $15 for the film and discussion, food sold separately.
