DWI Charge for Connecticut Woman After Thruway Crash
The 1-car accident happened near Exit 3 on Sunday.
State police responded to a one car personal injury accident on I-87 near Exit 3 at 10:30 p.m. July 26.
They said they found the driver, Carissa N. Viera, 30, to be intoxicated.
The Milford CT resident was treated and released roadside by emergency medical personnel for a minor arm bruise. Then she was transported and processed at the state police HQ in Tarrytown, where her blood alcohol content was determined to be 0.19 percent, police said.

Viera was charged with:
- Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Unclassified Misdemeanor
Viera was turned over to a sober third party and released on an appearance ticket returnable to Yonkers city court on Aug. 17.
