Eastchester Farmers Market Open For Season

EASTCHESTER, NY — The Eastchester Farmers Market is open for the season with more than 20 vendors, offering a variety of delicious goods. The first-ever farmers market in Eastchester is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays, through Oct. 15.

The market is located at 344 White Plains Rd. — behind Country Markets supermarket — in Eastchester.

Sam Friedman, founder and coordinator of the farmers market, said the feedback from shoppers has so far been positive.

“They seem excited to have their very own farmer’s market and genuinely interested in learning about all the different products from the vendors,” she said.

Friedman said shoppers will find organic vegetables and fruits, bread, local eggs, honey, hot sauce, pies, cakes, cheese and olive oil.

“Our goal is to make local, organic or homemade goods accessible to the community,” she said. “And on top of that, we’re hoping to build a community that inspires and embraces conversations about the origins of the food we eat and product that surround us.”
