Don't forget to vote May 21 if you live in the Bronxville, Eastchester or Tuckahoe school districts. Here's what you need to know.

EASTCHESTER, NY — New York residents are asked to vote on their local school district’s budget and board of education May 21. Here are fast facts about the elections in Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe.

Bronxville UFSD

Voting information

Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Bronxville School Blue Gym.

Board of Education

Three incumbent candidates are vying for three seats. They are John Bierwirth, Thomas Curran and Arleen Thomas.

School budget

  • Proposed for 2019-20: $49.5 million
  • Increase over current spending: 2.66 percent
  • Tax levy increase: 2.64 percent

There will also be a proposition to transfer to and expend from the Capital Projects Fund $1.5 million to provide additional funds for Capital Projects.


Eastchester UFSD

Voting information

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Eastchester Middle School gym or 235 Garth Road Community Center (Garth Road Residents only).

Board of Education

Three candidates are vying for three seats. They are Steven Projansky, Sally Veltidi and Cheryl Smith.

School budget

  • Proposed for 2019-20: $87.6 million
  • Increase over current spending: 2.2 percent
  • Tax levy increase: 2.12 percent

Tuckahoe UFSD

Voting information

Polls are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Tuckahoe Community Center or William E. Cottle Elementary School.

Board of Education

Four candidates are vying for two seats. They are Therese Gardere, Donna Martuge, Robert Sypher and Laura Benke.

School budget

  • Proposed for 2019-20: $35.5 million
  • Increase over current spending: 4.28 percent
  • Tax levy increase: 2.2 percent
